Romeo is an impulsive character and his actions are influenced by his emotions.
The statement that Romeo is an impulsive character and his actions are influenced by his emotions is true. Throughout the play Romeo is seen as an impulsive character and his actions are always influenced by his emotions. A part in the book that supports this statement is at the end of the play where Romeo finds out about Juliets death and goes to the Apothecary to buy poison. Act 3, scene 1 line 83-84 " I sell thee posion, thous hast sold me none. Farewell, buy food and get thyself in flesh." This part in the play is a prime example of how Romeo's actions are influenced by his emotions. Romeo always acts on how he feel's no matter what the situation.

Write a persuasive paragraph that responds to the following statement:Juliet would not have been forced to take such drastic action if she simply communicated with her family. Ultimately, Juliet, her mother and her father needed to sit down and have a nice long talk.
Juliet would sitll have to have had taken the same drastic action if she did communicate with her parents. Juliet ended up killing herself because she was being forced to marry Paris and also Romeo got banished. In the play Juliet did not communicate with her parents and she ended up killing herself because of that. Even if Juliet did communicate with her parents the same story line would possibly occur as her father threatened to disown her if she did not marry Paris. Act 3, scence 5 line 151-156 "And yet 'not proud' mistress minior you? Thank me no thankings, nor proud me no prouds, But fettle your fine joints 'gainst Thursday next, to go with Paris to Saint Peters Church, or i will drag thee on a hurdle thither. out, you green-sickness carrion! out, you baggage!" As Juliet has enourmouse respect for her parents and has never been out of her dad's care and money, it frightened her to see her dad call her a spoilt brat and threaten to disown her so if Juliet had communicated with her parent's the outcome could have been posibly worse as the Capulets and Montague are sworn enemys.

As Romeo and Juliet progresses, the audience is positioned to see that in the Capulet household respect for the family elders is paramount.
In Romeo and Juliet, the audience is positioned to see that in the Capulet household respect for the family elders is paramount. This is shown in Act One Scene 5, when Lord Capulet holds a party Tybalt finds out that Romeo has sneaked in and Tybalt gets very angry and Lord Capulet comes along and tells him that he needs to tolerate him and that he is boss of this house and that Tybalt has to do as he says. This is shown in the text, act one, scene 5 line 76-78 "He shall be endured.
What, goodman boy! I say, he shall. Go to.
Am I the master here, or you? Go to." This here shows that Tybalt needs respect for his elders in the Capulet house. Juliet also displays this respect for her elders because she is always doing what her mother and father wants her to do and this is displayed when Lady Capulet comes and tells Juliet that she has to marry Paris, and as she does not want to marry Paris she tell's her mum she would rather marry a Montague, their enemy. This displeases her father and Lord Capulet gets angry at Juliet and tells her she is baggage and threatens to disown her. Act 3, scene 5, line 151-156 "And yet “not proud”? Mistress minion you,
Thank me no thankings, nor proud me no prouds,
But fettle your fine joints 'gainst Thursday next
To go with Paris to Saint Peter’s Church,
Or I will drag thee on a hurdle thither.
Out, you green sickness, carrion! Out, you baggage!"

It is 2010 and a girl in her late teens has started dating a guy that she believes is her true love. Unfortunately, her parents, family and friends don't approve of him and are trying to force her to dump him. Her parents have even gone so far as to say that they will disown her if she doesn't cut all contact with this guy. In her diary she writes down her feelings about the whole situation. What does she write?
In your response, consider where in the world this girl lives, what her family situation is, what her social status is, what it is about the guy that her family and friends dislike, etc.
Another day that is finally over, another day of fights and threats to get my new boyfriend John out of my life. I dont understand why they want him out of my life! Their is hardly any age difference, everyone these days has boyfriends that are 4-5 years older, its just normal. Maybe its because they think he's scum just because he isnt rich like us or maybe its because im 15 and he's 19. They want him out of my life because he isnt rich and they think i should date the prince or the duke or something. I dont listen to them, they dont understand me. Im 16 and im in love with John and he is in love with me. I tell my mum in hope she will listen to me and understand, she just doesnt understand. We scream and fight about it all the time, even my dad fights with me. They threaten to disown me if they find out i have bee sneaking around to see him and he sneaks around to see me. He climbs through my window at night, we sneak out to parks in the middle of the night, we walk to school in the morning and have never been caught. If i did get caught, i dread to think what would happen to me or John. :( I just want them to see how good we are together, and how happy we are together and then maybe, just maybe they will accept him as he is.

The Vietnam War, also known as the Second Indochina War.
September 26, 1959[1] to April 30, 1975
The United States entered the war to prevent a communist takeover of South Vietnam as part of their wider strategy of containment.
The war exacted a huge human cost in terms of fatalities including 3 to 4 million Vietnamese from both sides, 1.5 to 2 million Laotians and Cambodians, and 58,159 U.S. soldiers.[15] By this war's end, the Vietnamese had been fighting foreign involvement or occupation in various wars for over a hundred years.

To Whom It May Concern
I was run over by the truth one day.
Ever since the accident I've walked this way
So stick my legs in plaster
Tell me lies about Vietnam.
Heard the alarm clock screaming with pain,
Couldn't find myself so I went back to sleep again
So fill my ears with silver
Stick my legs in plaster
Tell me lies about Vietnam.
Every time I shut my eyes all I see is flames.
Made a marble phone book and I carved out all the names
So coat my eyes with butter
Fill my ears with silver
Stick my legs in plaster
Tell me lies about Vietnam.
I smell something burning, hope it's just my brains.
They're only dropping peppermints and daisy-chains
So stuff my nose with garlic
Coat my eyes with butter
Fill my ears with silver
Stick my legs in plaster
Tell me lies about Vietnam.
Where were you at the time of the crime?
Down by the Cenotaph drinking slime
So chain my tongue with whisky
Stuff my nose with garlic
Coat my eyes with butter
Fill my ears with silver
Stick my legs in plaster
Tell me lies about Vietnam.
You put your bombers in, you put your conscience out,
You take the human being and you twist it all about
So scrub my skin with women
Chain my tongue with whisky
Stuff my nose with garlic
Coat my eyes with butter
Fill my ears with silver
Stick my legs in plaster
Tell me lies about Vietnam.

GRENADIER
The Queen she sent to look for me,
The sergeant he did say,
`Young man, a soldier will you be
For thirteen pence a day?'
For thirteen pence a day did I
Take off the things I wore,
And I have marched to where I lie,
And I shall march no more.
My mouth is dry, my shirt is wet,
My blood runs all away,
So now I shall not die in debt
For thirteen pence a day.
To-morrow after new young men
The sergeant he must see,
For things will all be over then
Between the Queen and me.
And I shall have to bate my price,
For in the grave, they say,
Is neither knowledge nor device
Nor thirteen pence a day.
A. E. Housman
1. How does this poem make you feel? What emotions do you feel when you read it?
Its sad because the Queen is paying people money so that they will go to war and fight, which could have been legal back in those days, but the men already had the choice to go to war and they obviously chose not to, so a way to get more people to go to war the Queen would pay them so that they can fight for their country.
2. What is the poem about?
Its about a man asking a young man if he will become a soldier for 13pence a day, it also says that he will not die in debt, the young man could be in debt and by going to war he could pay of his debt. The Queen is also paying men to go to war and fight for their country when they might have not wanted to go, but could not afford to pass up an opportunity to earn some money, maybe because they were poor or maybe because they had a family to support and they didnt have a very good job, otherwise they might not have chosen to go to war for 13 pence a day.
4. Why do you think the poet wrote this poem? What was he/she trying to achieve?
I think the poet was trying to tell people that the queen paid people small amounts of money for them to go to war, and even if you are payed to fight, that theres still that risk of dieing or being injured there and just because you've been paid doesnt mean you have immunity to not get hurt, theres a higher chance that you would have gotten hurt.
Does the poem rhyme?
Yes the poem does rhyme.
7. If the poem rhymes how do you think this adds to the overall effect of the poem?
I think it makes the poem more catchy, and then i can remember what it is about more.
9. Did you like this poem? Explain why.
The poem was interesting in the way the poet tried to get across to the reader about the Queen who used to pay people so that they could go and fight in the war just for 13 pence.
10.Does the poem create an image in you head? If yes, describe what you see in your mind. You may draw a picture to show what you see if you prefer.
It creates an image in my head about some man working for the Queen going to ask this young man to see if he will fight for his country for 13pence a day to pay of his debt.
The Queen she sent to look for me,
The sergeant he did say,
`Young man, a soldier will you be
